I think this year I will wait until April to start planting. When I came home from our trip around Australia, I tidied up and I planted a few tomatoes, capsicum, corn and pumpkin. The tomatoes delivered some harvest, the rest just grew and died - despite my watering efforts. Normally I only plant a cover crop over summer to give the soil some nutrients and get it ready for planting in autumn. in hindsight I probably should have done that but I didn't...
Anyway, it's too hot to do anything but the bare minimum outside at the moment, so I continue sewing. I did a workshop and learnt how to make a pintuck bag:
Despite a few mistakes, I think it turned out great and I'm really happy with it! It's a nice big bag and definitely not the last one I made... I love the colours and I'm superproud that I made it myself - even so it took me an entire day to cut the material and another day to actually make it. Thanks to the patient Suellen at Patchwork Paradise who let me stay back and finish my bag off.
My skirt is finished as well and turned out great! I have more fabric to make a few more. I love the style, it was easy to make and it fits and sits perfectly! I'm very proud of being able to wear something I made. Next project in the dressmaker's class is a blouse, a bit harder but I'm eager to learn.
I now have a few projects piled up to do and hopefully will get around to finish them on time. I have my sister's birthday coming up in April as well as Easter - by then I want to make a few deco items for home as well. Stay tuned to see more of my homemade items.
A new form of obsession, one that makes a lot of fun !!! And everything looks really great! I'm looking forward to, what news there is at Easter!!!
